On 5th and 6th September 2022, Mr. Syariful Izam Abdul Hamid has been invited as a facilitator from SI Acoustic under Malaysian Industrial Hygiene Association (MIHA) for Noise Regulation 2019 Compliance Training and Noise Prevention Program. The training was take place at TNB Tuanku Jaafar Power Station, Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan.
Time : 9.00 am – 5.00 pm
Participant : 27 TNB representatives from all branches
Objectives :
- To be able to describe the principal of Hearing Conservation Programme
- To be able to describe the physics of noise and sound
- To be able to explain about the legal requirement related with ICOP 2019 & Guideline of Control of Occupational Noise 2005
- To be able to explain about basic engineering noise control
Before the training start, Mrs. Shima, safety engineer from Tuanku Jaafar Power Station, had gave us a briefing on safety at Tuanku Jaafar Power Station. She also explained a little bit about the power station and the procedure that we must follow when we are inside the power station area.
After the briefing, Mr. Syariful Izam start with introduction and info about MIHA and Noise Regulation 2019 Compliance Training and Noise Prevention Program. Mr. Syariful Izam also had introduced himself to the participants during the ice breaking session.
The training consists of 6 modules:
Modul 1 : Principles of Industrial Hygiene and Hearing Conservation Program
Modul 2 : Legal Requirements
Modul 3 : How To Interpret NRA
Modul 4 : Hearing Mechanism + Audiometric Testing
Modul 5 : The Physics of Sound
Modul 6 : Engineering Noise Control
Overall, the 2 days training went very well. All participants had given their best by being proactive during the training. Most important, participants gain a lot of knowledge in noise control, noise risk assessment report and also how to solve excessive noise at their workplace.
